Did you know that the building stock in the EU is responsible for approximately 40% of energy consumption and 36% of CO2 emissions? The same is true for the world as a whole. Therefore, improving energy efficiency in existing buildings is crucial to bring down energy bills and reduce our carbon footprint at the same time. Since September 2015, MIG has been a committed partner of BuildHeat, an EU-funded project dedicated to the retrofit of residential buildings across Europe with the best available technologies. MIG’s task was to design and produce an exterior coating as part of a prefabricated façade cladding system that would enhance the structure’s thermal insulation. As an advocate for the sustainability of buildings, we strive to deliver sustainable solutions without affecting the health and comfort of its occupants. MIG-ESP® Rooflect 10002, the product borne out of the BuildHeat project, is a water-based thermal insulating coating free of VOCs and other harmful chemicals, which means it is safer for the health and the environment.
Now entering the wrap-up phase of the project, we have successfully demonstrated our innovative, energy-saving façade solution in one of the project’s demonstration sites in Zaragoza, Spain.
